Pike are known by many names. Gators, Hammer Handles, Johnnies, Snot Rockets, Jacks, etc. A friend of our’s while out fishing bass ran into a pike of a lifetime. After the epic fight that has led to more stories than Dr Seuss could tell – the only thing that ever stuck in our heads was the fact he called it a “Headbanger”. He would go on for hours talking about how this Pike thrashed it’s head around like it was at a Gun’s ‘n’ Roses concert. And thus the headbanger was born. Plus you can’t really call a shirt snot rocket …
